The room was very cold. There was no way to turn the air off. The televsion did not work because they were working on the roof. There were lady bugs everywhere in the bathroom. However, The front desk bartender were very nice...

Room condition was not what I expected. The nonsmoking room I requested was obviously a former smoking room. The smell was immediately detectable and there was a large cigarette burn on the comforter, along with several stains. There were also two places on seperate walls where either the plaster was damaged and crumbling or the wallpaper was torn. My window was located on the ground level next to an alley lined with dumpsters and I was awakened at 4:00 a.m. and again at 6:30 a.m. by very loud garbage trucks dumping and then dropping the containers back into place. This was a Saturday morning. The staff was very friendly and a room service breakfast was fine. The overall experience was not what I expected, however, and I would think twice about staying here again as the rate, though reasonable, was definitely not worth the hassle of putting up with deteriorated room and linen conditions and disrupted sleep.

Comfortable room, flat panel TV. This room faced a side street, and was very quiet.

Good value.

The hotel was 3 blocks from the Dupont Circle Station. Easy access via metro to the mall and monuments. The rooms were large and the beds were comfortable. In the lobby they have a complimentary computer you can use. I believe it's $10 a day for wireless internet. The location of the hotel was nice and I always felt safe.

Good hotel and near by good restaurant. I choose this hotel for room size and location near by subway to get quickly downtown. I would recommend the French "Bistro du coin" with great ambiance, food and wine.

Conveniently located to subway. Plenty of goof restaurante nearby and ready access to running trails. Hotel staff was helpful. Hotel was quiet and comfortable

The Churchill Hotel was a fantastic find for me. I went on Hotels.com to search for hotels in Washington, D.C. as I had to attend a trade show at the Convention Center. I happened upon this hotel and for the price & location it was an excellent value. It's just north of Dupont Circle which is chock full of good restaurants and bars and shops. There's a lot to do in walking distance and the Metro is nearby. I was throughly satisfied with the room, lobby, elevators and staff. Even a friend of mine, a D.C. local, commented that he'd not known of the hotel but was very impressed when he walked in the lobby. Overall, give it a try. I think you'll be satisfied.

My room was bigger than my NYC apartment! Only 3 blocks from Dupont Circle Metro, this was a great find. Hotel bar is deserted - however the neighborhood has many offerings including just a walk around the amazing mansions of diplomats.

Very nice and a great value I will stay again!

The room service (housekeeping) was great. I'm a stickler about having my room cleaned as that is important to me. The hotel has a metro stop across the street so that was cool too. If you drive, valet is $37 a day and $31 self parking -- too expensive, but it is DC. Since I was in town for a conference, my partners had my car at their hotel so I saved this expense. The restaurant on site was respectable but pricy. I only ate their twice. But this is DC and like any large city, expect to pay the cost. I liked the room with one exception, it seemed small. When I think of the advertised 450 sq. feet I think of something definitely larger than what I got. This seemed like false advertising, but I was in and out so much that it didn't matter nearly as much as if I were entertaining there 24/7. All of the Nupes and friends that came by to drink & chill still were accommodated.

I stayed over night at the Churchill and had a great stay. The room was very comfortable and clean. The room wasn't huge but it was a nice size with a large bathroom. I would stay at the Churchill again.

This hotel was originally built as a first class apartment house. It has been beautifully refurbished as a modern hotel with all the mod cons and yet retains the beautiful turn-of-the-century grandure. My room was small and the bath was very small but it included all the amenities. The bed and linens were first class and very comfortable.

If you like smaller, but nice traditionally styled hotels then this is it. The bathroom had plenty of room and the bed was as comfortable as any other I have slept in Enjoy

expensive but nice hotel

The Churchill has the feel of a small Old World style hotel. It is on the beaten path, right near several embassies and shopping, but it's interior is so quiet that it feels like it's off the beaten path. The rooms are very spacious for an urban hotel, and the beds are very comfortable. There is an in-room mini refrigerator well disguised in a beautiful cabinet. Everything was quite clean and tidy. The only complaint is that more attention should be given to the updating or maintenance of the tub/shower area of the bathroom. If you drive, the parking area out front is difficult to negotiate.

Dupont Circle is just a couple of blocks away with lots of fun restaurants, shops and a great Farmer's Market on Sunday. The hotel itself, listed on the historic registry, is right out of another era, but updated with new bathrooms, electronics and even a refrigerator (not just a minibar).

I was very pleased with the Churchill. The room was comfortable with the right amenities. The location was also very good, being close to the subway/metro. Also the Chef over the restaurant, made outstanding meals. I was very please. The price $$$, but food very good quality.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful hotel that is on the list of Historical Hotels. The beds are heavenly and the rooms are very comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Parking is difficult to find if you don't want to pay for valet parking. There are several interesting shops and places to eat within a reasonable walking distance. We would definitely stay at the Churchill again!

It was cheap and clean and in a decent location near Dupont Circle, but nothing like the photos. Hotel is old and a bit rundown with tiny bathroom. The bathroom on an airplane is bigger than what we had in a Junior Suite.

The staff was kind and considerate. The room was clean and suited my needs. Great value for the money.

A small gem with European flair. Small bathroom, but that was the only thing that could be considered less-than-perfect. GREAT bed and linens with feather pillows. Quiet room with no noise from outside in spite of a busy location.

When we booked this on Hotels.com we booked a king size room, but when we got to the hotel, they told us that there are no king size available, and that we will be forced to sleep in a two beds room, and that the next day they will move us to a different room. The next day when we called the receptionist knew nothing about our request and said that she can't move us to a different room. Only on our last day we were moved. over all we were very disappointed, and will never go back there.

Great location, clean and comfortable rooms, not that expensive. In a word, perfect. This is where I'm staying from now on when I go to DC.

Our first trip to Washington DC, we couldn't have picked a better location. Short walk to the metro, trolley bus tours stopped near the hotel. White House within walking distance, lots of street cafes along the way.
